Overview

We are seeking a Part-Time Social Copywriter in Los Angeles to help drive the brand’s voice across owned social media channels with a social-first mindset. We’re looking for a strong writer who’s obsessed with beauty and social media. The Social Copywriter will report to the Director of Social Media and collaborate closely with the Social Media team and Creative’s Senior Social Designer to optimize copy for product marketing objectives, develop compelling hooks, and elevate storytelling and brand voice. You’ll need to be extremely creative, collaborative, flexible, and open to feedback.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Write compelling and engaging copy across brand-owned social touchpoints, ensuring it’s consumer-friendly and tailored for each platform (Instagram and TikTok).
  • Support the team by fostering a sense of community on socials by actively responding to comments during community management and escalating any customer issues to our Customer Care team promptly. 
  • Draft weekly copy for the company’s LinkedIn page, highlighting notable press coverage or brand moments.
  • Stay on top of social trends and monitor conversations across platforms to maintain brand relevance.
  • Understand how to curate the copy per platform with a consistent brand voice. 
  • Understand how copy enhances the paired visuals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Social Designer to create high-performing, visually-driven storytelling that is engaging and social-first (e.g., leveraging platform-specific features like Instagram Stories’ in-app tools, such as polls).
  • Prioritize delivering social copy ahead of schedule, while remaining flexible to accommodate last-minute changes due to the nature of social.
  • Optimize the copy based on feedback.
  • Prioritize SEO copywriting when possible.
  • Proofread to ensure copy is spotless and error-free across all channels.

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to work in the office 3x a week.
  • Self-starter, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • Exceptional writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • A passion for beauty, makeup and social media. You are in tune and follow the trends, influencers, and brands to be able to push the conversation forward in the industry.
  • Strong passion for community with the ability to spark social conversations. 
  • Strong work ethic with exceptional project management & organizational skills. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail and an ongoing commitment to achieving high-quality results.
  • Well-versed in social media platforms and have a deep understanding of platform tools (ex. Instagram + TikTok)
